HUD Multifamily Housing Complaint Line

If you live in an apartment building that HUD insures or assists, you can report poor maintenance or other problems with the management, and ask about your rights as a resident.

Good to know

It is for HUD-insured and HUD-assisted buildings. For a voucher home or public housing, start with your housing agency; the line can refer you.

Before you call

Have ready

  • the building's name and address
  • the dates you reported the problem to management
  • photos if you have them

They can

  • explain how to report the problem to building management more effectively
  • answer questions about residents' rights
  • refer you to your local housing agency or another organisation
