Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3, FBI)

You can report a cyber-enabled crime, including fraud and scams, to the FBI. The site says to file a report even if you are unsure whether your complaint qualifies.

Good to know

The FBI says reports let it track threats and, in some cases, freeze stolen funds, but it cannot guarantee a response to every complaint. The IC3 will never contact you directly for information or money, and it does not work with law firms or crypto services to recover lost funds. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911. Crimes against children go to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

We list this organization because people told us it helped. We’re not affiliated with it, and we don’t speak for it. Last checked October 9, 2026: we opened its own site and confirmed this link and number. We don’t call the lines, and hours can change — their site has the latest.

Heavy moment? Call or text 988 — or we’re here.
