RAINN — National Sexual Assault Hotline

You can talk with someone trained to help after any kind of sexual assault or abuse, whether it happened last night or years ago.

Good to know

It is free any hour. If talking out loud feels too hard, text, or use the live chat on their hotline page instead. You never have to give your name or location. If you share both and you are under 18 or a vulnerable adult, RAINN is required by law to report to authorities in your state, and it may also report if it believes you are considering suicide.

We list this organization because people told us it helped. We’re not affiliated with it, and we don’t speak for it. Last checked October 11, 2026: we opened its own site and confirmed this link and number. We don’t call the lines, and hours can change — their site has the latest.
