Enquire (Scottish advice service for additional support for learning)

Advice about additional support for learning in Scotland. Advisers listen to your concerns, explain children's rights to additional support and advise on the next steps you can take. You can phone, use webchat or send a webform. Enquire is funded by the Scottish Government and managed by the charity Children in Scotland.

Good to know

It is an advice and information service, not an advocacy service: if you ask about advocacy, advisers can chat about it and signpost local advocacy services. Calls from a landline typically cost up to 9p per minute and from a mobile can vary from free to 55p per minute: if cost is an issue, tell the adviser and they will call you back. If you do not get through first time, try again later or use another way to reach them. The webform cannot offer call backs. Interpreters can be arranged for over 200 languages through LanguageLine, and British Sign Language users can contact the helpline using contactSCOTLAND-BSL.

We list this organization because it is a national service for the need on this page. We’re not affiliated with it, and we don’t speak for it. Last checked October 10, 2026: we opened its own site and confirmed this link and number. We don’t call the lines, and hours can change — their site has the latest.
