Housing Loss Prevention Advice Service (legal aid)

If someone is trying to take your home back, you can get free government-funded legal advice from the moment you receive a written notice. If you are asked to go to a court hearing, an adviser can also give free advice and represent you at the court.

Good to know

Your financial situation will not affect your right to this help, and you will not need to pay. You find your nearest provider by typing your postcode into the government's find legal advice service. On the day of a hearing, arrive at least 30 minutes early and speak to the court usher.
