Victim Support NI

If you have been affected by crime in Northern Ireland, you can call a hub to make an appointment for free, confidential support, whether or not you reported the crime and however long ago it happened. Staff and volunteers give emotional and practical help, and can help with forms such as a criminal injury compensation claim.

Good to know

Call the hub closest to you. Belfast, 028 9024 3133, covers Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon, Belfast, Lisburn and Castlereagh, Newry, Mourne and Down, and North Down and Ards. Foyle, 028 7137 0086, covers Antrim and Newtownabbey, Causeway Coast and Glens, Derry and Strabane, Fermanagh and Omagh, Mid and East Antrim, and Mid-Ulster. They can also help relatives and friends.

Before you call

They can

  • give free, confidential emotional and practical support after any type of crime, whether or not you reported it to the police
  • help with tasks such as filling in forms for a criminal injury compensation claim
  • help arrange counselling if they think you need it: what they do is similar to counselling, but it is not the same
  • help relatives and friends too

They cannot

  • keep everything confidential in every case: they may pass information on if someone is at risk of harm, if a child may be at risk, or if a judge directs it

Lines can be busy. If you cannot get through, wait on the line until the answer service starts and leave your name and number: a member of staff will call you back as soon as they can. You can also email your nearest hub.

We list this organization because it is a national service for the need on this page. We’re not affiliated with it, and we don’t speak for it. Last checked October 10, 2026: we opened its own site and confirmed this link and number. We don’t call the lines, and hours can change — their site has the latest.
