State labor offices (U.S. Department of Labor list)

A Department of Labor page that lists every state's labor office, with its address, phone number and website. State labor offices enforce state labor laws. Depending on the state, those can cover things the federal law does not, such as how soon a last paycheck must be paid or meal and rest periods.

Good to know

The state decides its own rules and deadlines, so ask your state office how and by when to make a wage claim. Use the office for the state where you worked. If the payday for your last pay period has passed and you have not been paid, the Department of Labor says to contact its Wage and Hour Division or your state labor department.

Before you call

Have ready

  • the state where you worked

They can

  • give you your state labor office's address, phone number and website

They cannot

  • take a wage claim or give advice itself: your state labor office does that

We list this organization because people told us it helped. We’re not affiliated with it, and we don’t speak for it. Last checked October 10, 2026: we opened its own site and confirmed this link and number. We don’t call the lines, and hours can change — their site has the latest.
