They can
- connect you with emergency food providers in your community, government assistance programs and other social services
- find meal sites, food banks and other services near where you are, through a representative on the phone
- answer a text to 914-342-7744 with food resources near an address or zip code, through an automated service
They cannot
- answer the phone outside Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern time
- give you food themselves: the line finds places that do
