HealthCare.gov Marketplace
The Marketplace call center can help you apply for or fix a health insurance application. You can also find people in your community trained to help you enroll.
Good to know
TTY users can call 1-855-889-4325. They do not take questions or documents by email, but you can upload documents on the site. The site has information in many languages.
Before you call
Have ready
- the date your health cover ended or will end, for example job-based cover after a job loss or a death, or a Marketplace plan the person who died was on
- papers showing you lost cover and the date it ended: if you are asked for them, send them within 30 days of picking a plan
- your best estimate of your household's income for the year you want cover, counting everyone in the household and including unemployment benefits
They may ask
- about your household and your estimated income for the year, which decide any savings and whether you may qualify for Medicaid or CHIP
They can
- help you fill out an application, review your choices and enroll, free, with help in other languages
- help you find people in your community trained to help you enroll
- take calls from TTY users on 1-855-889-4325
They cannot
- take questions or documents by email: upload documents on the site or mail photocopies
- start your coverage for you: you pay the first premium to the insurance company, not the Marketplace, and cover does not start until you do
