One small thing you could do
Take one photo right now: the sticker on the bottom of your laptop, the model plate on the washer, or the serial number you’ll need someday. Put it in an album called Home.
Every outlet I replace, I write the circuit-breaker number on the back of the faceplate in sharpie. Future me, standing at the panel with a flashlight, is grateful every single time.
